Oglala Lakota Cultural and Economic Revitalization Initiative (OLCERI) is an L3C dedicated to restoring resilience of the Lakota on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. We are a collective of men and women of complementary skills working together to empower the wellbeing of our community.
OLCERI was born and raised in the community we serve. We’re not another outside organization pushing prescribed solutions that have failed our tribe in the past. We believe in working together with dedicated people on and off the Reservation, and are grateful for our many friends who form such a broad network of expertise. However, our core remains right here on Pine Ridge, ensuring we are working to respond to the real needs of the Lakota today.
Our approach is “grassroots” and our methods are meaningful to our people. We believe all environmental, economic and social change must be carried out by the people who comprise the community. In turn, rather than issuing handouts, what we provide are examples, relevant education and opportunities. With our broad range of initiatives, we aim to create the situations and environments that inspire positive change from within.
